Bitter Gourd, known more popularly by its vernacular name, Karela, is a bitter fruit with several health benefits. It is also called Bitter Melon and grows on a vine. It is closely related to Zucchini and Cucumber.

Store and Use
Bitter Gourd should be washed, dried and refrigerated. It is made into juice, pickle and cooked with herbs and spices to reduce the bitterness. Both, the fruit and the juice can be refrigerated and used over time.
